NHS Adopting Taichi/Qigong (Shibashi)

The Torbay and Devon NHS have produced the following practice information for beginners, in taichi/qigong (Shibashi), as a simple and easy to learn system of forms and movements to help overall balance, posture and general health. The hand-out includes pictures to help and also shows these in seated form, for those less mobile.

Shibashi is an easy to learn system of movements, using 18 forms, which will help mobility, balance and overall health and is becoming increasingly recognised by the NHS as a safe sytem of exercise for the older citizens, combing elements of tai chi and chi kung.
